Mud2 Areas by safety

This is a list of the areas of Mud2 by safety. You can and will still die in the safest of places, but this will mostly be due to the actions of other players, rather than the intrinsic evils of the environment.

In general staying close to the road and above ground is safest. The perils and rewards start stacking up the further away you get. The major exception to this is the keep which is right next to the road, and very nasty.

Basically Safe

You can kill yourself in these places and be set upon by vile monsters, but it isn't something to expect all that often.

TearoomNothing can touch you in here. Fighting is outlawed, they can't get you and you can't get them. A Wiz could still kill you of course if you'd done something blatantly illegal, but otherwise relax, go and make a cup of tea. Mind you don't score many points while stuck in here...
The RoadPeople can attack you here, and you them.
CottageThe bits above ground are safe, at least.
SwampThe Banshee can be vicious.
Pine ForestNice, quiet and empty.
GraveyardSomething nasty in the middle, if you can get there.
Dense ForestYou can hide from spells here, though you may be bothered by wandering mobiles if you fall asleep.
Railway LineWhat can I say? It's a railway line. Well, maybe a train will run you down.
InnFull of treasure, empty of threat.
CaveWell, there is an Ogre, but he won't chase you.
Formal GardensSome passive mammals wander about the empty landscape.
Maze of HedgesYou can get lost, but the bees are sweet.
Deerpark & Luscious WoodSee Formal Gardens.
North MountainWell, there's a cave that can kill you in an instant. But you're too careful to wander in there, aren't you?
MinesYou can only kill yourself, unless you happen to wander down to the Dwarfen Realm.
Woodsman's HutIt's a hut.
Il CastellarePacked with goodies.
MonasteryHelp! Help! The mighty Piglet might kill me!
